Here are some of the headlines and updates from Friday’s practice:Pete Carroll is still out throwing balls and skipping around like he’s not the oldest coach in the league. Off to the side, Ezekiel Ansah was seen doing individual drills against two coaches. He appeared to have full shoulder mobility. He pulled off some really nice swim moves and even some contact against coaches and pads. Ansah looks strong and fluid, and we may be able to watch him earlier this year than the original projections. For a good portion of his practice coaches were having him line up with his hand on the ground, against the right tackle, coming out wide and pursuing the QB. He looks every bit a number one edge rusher. Will Dissly also ran through individual drills running and cutting at good speed. Not all-out, but at least 80% and seems to be progressing very well. Bobby Wagner did not practice once again. However, he was a full suit today while he stayed out in the middle of everything, talking with coaches the entire time. This seems to have no resemblance to the previous holdouts the Seahawks have seen. Ben Burr-Kirven was a limited participant. He did full warm ups and a few drills, but not the offense versus defense portion of practice. More than once Barkevious Mingo Color Rush Jersey , I got Jason Myers confused with the high school water boys. Myers made five kicks in a row in about two minutes, moving back five yards each time out to a 48-yarder. Every single one was above the top of the uprights. This dude can kick. The first play from scrimmage was, you guessed it: Chris Carson between the tackles. Travis Homer showed consistent explosiveness. His first run had a huge hole and his immediate burst is noticeable. He also scored on a long run later, and had some very impressive after jets as he flew past the secondary. He definitely has a second gear that should play in this league. New acquisition Jacob Hollister came in with the 1s and George Fant heavy package early into scrimmage. While he didn’t do much on that first drive, Hollister looked better than Vannett in route running, more sure-handed, and is significantly faster. He’s small for a TE. Akeem King and Tedric Thompson got reps with the 1s reps in receiver drills; King was at slot corner. Meanwhile, Ugo Amadi’s first and primary appearances were at free safety. C.J. Prosise actually practiced. There was one significant interception today. DK Metcalf dropped a crossing route in the middle of field on his first target and sent the ball towards Thompson. It was at the top of head level right in front of his body and popped straight off his hands. Later on however, Metcalf converted a situational 3rd and 6 curl route in tight coverage Ed Dickson Color Rush Jersey , as well as a nice grab behind him on a short cross. The fans are absolutely glued in to every play involving Metcalf. Russell Wilson is ever the professional. On their first true long ball, Russ overthrew Tyler Lockett. Wilson immediately had him stay to attempt to hit the same spot with a new ball. That’s apparently a thing for them—they did it again later on a drop from Lockett. Naz Jones left full scrimmage at one point to run lines in the end zone. He kneeled down after a few laps and stared at the ground for near a minute. He did not return to action, which is not good news for his troubled career and an already questionable d-line. David Moore got more go routes today, including a great catch from Wilson that the defender never saw. He showed more versatility, though, including a 15 yard curl route and very nifty toe tap on the right sideline. Paxton Lynch was picked off immediately in full scrimmage. In the middle of a very quiet preseason, L.J. Collier got a blocked pass on Wilson against the starting offensive line. He showed off a great sense to step back, elevate, and take up the perfect throwing lane for Russ’ attempt to find the sideline. It was the only blocked pass from a lineman today. Jaron Brown was VERY involved in the offense. Early on he secured a great TD on a post from right to left. He was all over the field Jaron Brown Color Rush Jersey , getting more targets than all other receivers. It’s a very obvious 1-2-3 as Brown joins Lockett and Moore. It’s also clear that Pete’s remarks about getting more involvement for Brown should be taken seriously. Penny might have some more work to do receiving. He dropped the first throw his way and never looked as natural as Carson. Chris did very well out of the backfield, catching everything that came his way and made a nice run after a shoestring catch down the sideline. Russ and Carson also stayed after practice to continue working on routes. JD McKissic only played with the 2s and 3s but made a point to show his cutting post catch. He looked quick and fluid. Shaquem Griffin appeared in coverage far more than rushing off the edge. I was not expecting that after all the talks of moving him, but with limited contact maybe it’s not the part of his game the coaches wanted to see until it’s more of a full run through. Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said last week that the team would not let defensive end Frank Clark get away as a free agent and he was proven correct on Monday afternoon.According to multiple reports, the Seahawks have used the franchise tag on Clark. The tag carries a salary of $17.128 million if Clark signs it and plays out the year without reaching agreement on a new deal with Seattle. They’ll have until July 15 to sort that out.Clark joined the Seahawks as a second-round pick in the 2015 draft and set a career high with 13 sacks for the team last season.Clark’s the fourth edge player to get tagged on Monday. Jadeveon Clowney of the Texans, DeMarcus Lawrence of the Cowboys and Chiefs linebacker Dee Ford are also in that category ahead of Tuesday afternoon’s deadline, so the remaining free agents in that category should see their price tags rise as demand is likely to outstrip supply come the start of the new league year.: The NFL’s daily transaction wire confirmed that Clark has been tagged.
